Our Fee Policy

In all matters, we strive to provide the best service available at a rate that is cost justified under all circumstances.

We trust that our clients, like us, seek a mutually beneficial relationship and that this can only be achieved through our ability to provide economically realistic rates at conditions that are set to their needs and requirements.

In order to achieve this, we adopt the following simple management principles:

  1. Our policy is not to bill the first telephone consultation with the new client to firstly permit both the client and the lawyer to determine whether and how we may be of assistance.
  2. From beginning to end every effort is made to have the same knowledgeable lawyer or lawyers responsible for a matter;
  3. Legal tasks are handled by the competent person or persons having the lowest hourly rate, taking due account of the importance of the matter;
  4. Informed lawyer-client communications are always kept open to take cost effective decisions at each stage of the matter.

Risk sharing and other fee structures

In wrongful dismissal matters and other similar recourses involving principally the recovery of monies owing (for example: employment litigation), we offer the possibility of risk sharing or contingency fee arrangements.

These arrangements generally offer more predictability in terms of prospective costs analysis and also alleviate risk factors as well as the sometimes burdensome aspect of facing regular attorney billings at periods where income may often be at a low point.

In all matters, our policy is to frankly discuss fee-related matters at the beginning of each mandate and, in risk sharing or contingency mandates, to confirm these arrangements in writing.
